NEWS RELEASE - GRANT FUNDS FOR ARTS PROJECTS AVAILABLE FROM – PENNSYLVANIA RURAL ARTS ALLIANCE

The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) announces the availability of grant funds through the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) Project Stream. PPA is a regionalized funding program of the PCA. A total of 16 local organizations administer PPA and serve all 67 counties in Pennsylvania by re-granting funds to support a wide variety of local and community arts activities.
The Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance (PRAA) is the PPA partner organization in this region, serving the counties of Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Indiana, Lawrence, Somerset and Westmoreland.
PPA Project Stream grants are available to support arts activities that take place between September 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011. Grant requests may not exceed $3,000. Applications are due postmarked on or before June 18, 2010. The online application and guidelines can be seen at http://pca.egrant.org
A series of workshops will be held for grant applicants. Anyone wishing to apply to the Project Stream is advised to attend a workshop to get detailed information about the application process. Applicants may attend any workshops regardless of home county. Workshops are scheduled as follows:
Monday May 24 – Westmoreland County - Westmoreland Museum of American Art – 221 N. Main Street, Greensburg from 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Tuesday May 25 – Indiana County – Indiana Theatre Building, 637 Philadelphia Street, Indiana 4th floor Room 406 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM – enter from alley through double glass doors
Wednesday May 26 – Cambria County – Bottleworks Ethnic Arts Center, 411 Third Avenue, Johnstown from 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Thursday May 27 – Somerset County – United Community Church of God, 405 Park Street, Confluence from 1:00 –3:00 PM
Monday June 7 – Blair County – Blair County Arts Foundation, 1212 12th Avenue, Altoona from 1:00 – 3:00 PM
Tuesday June 8 – Beaver County – B.F Jones Memorial Library, 663 Franklin Avenue, Aliquippa from 4:00 – 6:00 PM
